Cincinnati Leather and Critter Weekend, Aug 16-18, 2024

Cincinnati Leather 2024 is a full weekend experience.

We kick the weekend off on Thursday with Cocktails with the Critter, Friday with a drag and burlesque show, and a chance to meet the contestants.  Saturday features daytime Kink U classes and social meetups that lead up to the evening’s main contest, followed by a victory dance party.  Sunday’s brunch concludes the contest weekend with time to meet the winner, contestants, and all local and visiting leatherfolk.

Contestants

Up to seven contestants will be selected based on their applications.

Additional entrants will be waitlisted and considered if a vacancy arises.
Contestants will be notified by 11:59pm on Friday, August 2nd.

Requirements

  • You must be 21 or older.
  • You must live in the greater Cincinnati area or be able to reasonably represent and serve this community.
  • You must submit your application by 11:59pm on July 27th.

Responsibilities

  • The winner will care for the sash during their title year and bring it back to sash the new winner at the 2025 contest.
  • The winner may not compete for another local title while they hold this title.

Prizes

  • The winner will receive a back patch that they may keep, and credit for a custom title vest by Abraided Leather.
  • $500 travel fund for competing at a next-level contest and/or representing Cincinnati Leather other events.

Benefits

  • The winner is automatically invited to judge the 2025 contest.
  • The winner can petition the producer for sponsorship to the appropriate “next level” contest that they are interested in competing for.

Volunteer

It takes a community to make this weekend possible.

We have a wide range of areas where your expertise would be invaluable.
All weekend volunteers will receive free entry to both Friday and Saturday night events.

Simple Commitment

Move sets and props on/off the stage during Friday and Saturday productions.

Assist event staff with time sensitive requests.

Welcome and direct guests from ticketing and to the event floor.

Assist the production crew after Saturday night’s production finishes.

Follow the lighting director’s cues to illuminate our contestants and performers.

Leadership Roles

Assist the Show Director and Artistic Director during Friday and Saturday evening productions.  You will direct stage hands, contestants, and performers to their positions and duties.

Set up and direct the green room for our performers during Friday and Saturday evening productions.

WOODWARD THEATER (MEET& GREET, CONTEST, KINK U KINK CLASSES)

  • The front doors have a single step up into the building. We have a portable wheelchair ramp and greeters can assist guests who use wheelchairs into the building.
  • Handicapped parking spaces are available on Main Street, both above and below 14th Street.
  • Limited seating near the front is available for guests with mobility challenges and their companions.
  • The venue has two ADA-compliant restrooms on the ground floor. All restrooms are gender neutral for the weekend.
  • ASL interpretation will be provided for the Meet & Greet and Contest.  Reserved ASL seating in front of our interpreters will be available.
  • The vendor mart and clothes check are located on the second floor balcony, which is only accessible by stairs.
  • We will have bootblacks on both floors of the Woodward at the Meet & Greet and the contest.
  • Flash photography and moving lights will be used during stage production elements.
  • Flashing lights and strobe lights will not be used.
  • Service animals are welcome. Handlers will be responsible for any messes made.

MOTR PUB (FETISh HAPPY HOUR and VICTORY BRUNCH VENUE)

  • The front doors are flush with the sidewalk and there is no step up into the building.
  • The venue has an ADA compliant restroom on the first floor.

Bar 901 (Happy Hour and Afterparty venue)

  • The front doors have a single, low step up into the building.
  • The venue has ADA-compliant restrooms.

ALICE (FRIDAY AFTERPARTY)

  • There is a wheelchair ramp besides the entrance that leads to the main patio, and there are no steps to get into the building itself from the patio.
  • There are ADA compliant bathrooms on the main floor.
  • Patio, bar, restrooms, and lounge are all accessible.

TILLIE’S (COCKTAIL WITH THE CRITTER)

  • Tillie’s has two steps up into the bar from the street and no ramp.
  • The restrooms are *not* ADA compliant.
